Trades, not IT people

Cydoo is not aimed at one particular sector: it is aimed at any organisation that sells, buys, delivers or invoices, and has had enough of copying the same information from one tool to the next. Here are the lines of business where it changes the most.

You areWhat Cydoo takes off your hands
Building trades, joiners, metalworkers The quote priced from measurements, the chase-up of a customer who has not signed, and the interim invoice at each stage of the job. It all comes from the same document, with no retyping.
Wholesale, merchants, distribution Hundreds of references, customer-specific price lists, replenishment. Stock updates on sale and margin reads line by line.
Production workshops and subcontract manufacturers The works order that follows the sales order, material consumed and deducted from stock, cost price computed without a parallel spreadsheet.
Service companies and design offices Time spent, the job it belongs to, and the resulting invoice, whether fixed price or time and materials.
Retail and points of sale Takings, shop stock and the accounting that follows on, with no end-of-day till re-entry.
Transport and logistics The order, the delivery note, the proof of delivery and invoicing by weight, volume or pallet.
Accountants and practices Clean entries, a compliant ledger export and a client who enters things in the right place themselves. Fewer missing documents at year end.
Charities, local authorities, budget-constrained bodies Members or service users, grants to track, and accounts that must stand up in front of an auditor.
Regulated professions and healthcare Traceability that holds up, data to protect, and dated documents you must be able to produce years later.

And inside the company, who uses it?

Cydoo does not expect you to be an IT person. It expects you to know your trade. Here are the four people at Les Ateliers du Vent d'Ouest; you will probably recognise yourself in one of them.

WhoWhat they doWhat they open first
Camille
management
Decides, follows the figures, signs the large quotes. The dashboard.
Farida
administration
Enters customers, sends invoices, chases late payments. Quotes and invoices.
Yanis
workshop
Prepares orders, takes timber out of stock. The day's orders.
Tom
apprentice
Is learning. Gets it wrong sometimes, and that's fine. Whatever he was shown this morning.

Nobody needs to know everything. Each person sees what concerns them. An apprentice cannot delete an invoice by accident: his permissions do not allow it. You cannot break the tool by clicking.

What if I make a mistake?

Almost everything can be corrected. A quote can be changed as long as it has not been accepted. A confirmed invoice cannot be erased, the law forbids it, but it can be properly cancelled with a credit note, and Cydoo does that for you. The only truly final action is deleting a record, and it is reserved for those who have the right to do it.

In closing

If your activity fits one of those lines, Cydoo is for you, whatever your job: management, administration, the workshop and the apprentice each find their own screen. You do not have to learn all of it, only the part that concerns you. The rest will wait until you need it.
