Two address books to begin with
The address book icon opens your contacts. Two come as standard: Contacts, the one you fill in, and Emailed contacts, which fills itself with the people you write to. The second is handy: half your address book is already there without your having typed a thing.
Creating an entry
The New button opens a blank card: surname, first name, company, job title, addresses and telephone numbers. Pick the destination address book at the bottom, then save. To correct a card, open it and click Edit.
Groups, to write to several people at once
The arrow beside New offers a contact group: give it a name, add the addresses, save. After that, typing Team leaders into the recipient field of a message inserts all five addresses at once.
Several address books
A right click on an address book lets you create others, give them a colour, or move a card from one to another. The workshop keeps three: Customers, Suppliers, Partner tradesmen.
Importing and exporting
A right click on an address book offers export as a spreadsheet file, and import of a file of the same kind. That is how you take in an address book from another tool, or keep a copy of yours.
A well-filled contact card serves twice. It completes addresses when you write, and it gives the right telephone number when you need to reach someone quickly.
In closing
The address book that fills itself is enough for the first few months. The one you maintain by hand becomes useful the day you have to write to a whole group without forgetting anyone.
