Settings, and what you adjust there

The settings fit into a few pages, arranged by subject. Nothing in there can harm your mail: at worst a setting displeases you and you put it back as it was.
The general settings: appearance, language and
time away.
Appearance
The theme switches between light and dark, or follows your computer's. The text size is set with a slider, with a preview at the bottom of the screen: Camille, who reads a great deal, has moved it up a notch.
Language and time
The interface language is picked from a list. The time zone follows your computer's: that is what guarantees an appointment made with a Belgian customer falls at the right hour for everyone.
The mail section sets the display as conversations or separate messages, how often mail is fetched, and the warning when a message arrives, window or sound. It also holds your signatures and your filters, each of which has a lesson of its own.
The password
The authentication section lets you change your password. Take a long one, particular to this mailbox, and do not reuse it anywhere else. That is also where the second check is configured, if your company has turned it on.
Every settings page has its own Save button. An unsaved change does not apply: that is cause number one of "I changed it and nothing happened".
In closing
Nothing you set here can damage your mail: at worst a setting displeases you and you put it back. This is the page where you can experiment without fear.
