The screen where you decide
Clicking a line in the list opens the message. On the left, what it contains. On the right, the only thing you are asked for: your decision.
The message on the left, the decision on the right.
Nothing else to work out.
What you see, and what you do not
The message text is shown as plain text, unformatted. Images are not loaded, links are not clickable, and nothing runs. Opening a held message from this portal is therefore harmless, even if the message is not: you read it, it does not read you.
Release
"Release" delivers the message to your inbox exactly as it arrived. You find it in your usual mailbox within moments. This is the move for a new customer's quote wrongly stopped.
Report
"Report" deletes the message and teaches the filter that this kind of mail does not interest you. It is not a denunciation: it is a setting, and it applies to you alone.
And if I do nothing?
No harm done. An untouched message stays readable for several weeks, then disappears on its own. Doing nothing is a valid decision: it is in fact what Yanis does with his forty held messages a month.
Releasing cannot hurt. The worst that can happen is that an advertisement lands in your inbox and you delete it. When in doubt, release: a lost quote costs more than one advert too many.
