Reading your quarantine
The list, and what it tells you
Your quarantine is a list: who wrote, what subject, when, and why the message was held. That last point is the most useful, and it is written in plain words.
| Reason shown | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sender not authenticated | The server that sent this message is not allowed to write on behalf of that domain. This is the reason shown for messages impersonating someone. |
| Reported as unwanted | This message looks like what many other servers report. It is the most common reason. |
| Dangerous attachment | The attached file is of a type used to install a program. This reason is rarely a mistake. |
| Sender refused | You added this sender to your own blocked list. |
What you will never see
No score, no mark out of ten, no percentage. A number does not help you decide: "sender not authenticated" tells you what to look at, "score 7.3" tells you nothing.
Each user sees their own quarantine, and only theirs. Farida does not see Yanis's held messages, nor does Camille: everyone's mail stays their own.
