The Security Center does not expect you to be an IT specialist. It is built to be read by whoever runs the company, by whoever handles the paperwork, and by whoever is on the shop floor. Here are the four people at Les Ateliers du Vent d'Ouest.
| Who | What they do | What they open first |
|---|---|---|
| Camille management |
Wants to know in ten seconds whether all is well. Signs the contract. | The dashboard. |
| Marie administration |
Follows the contract, the invoices and her colleagues' accounts. | My contract, My organisation. |
| Jean workshop |
Has three workshop computers. Wants to be told if one has trouble. | The equipment list, the alerts. |
| Tom apprentice |
Is learning. Clicks everywhere. Which is exactly right. | The help centre. |
Looking breaks nothing. The vast majority of screens are read-only: you browse, you filter, you export. The actions that actually change something are few, always confirmed by a dialog, and reserved for those who have the right to them.
What if I click on something I don't understand?
Nothing serious will happen. Many technical words in the portal are underlined: a "?" button at the top right turns on explanation bubbles. Hover over the word and the definition appears. And if the doubt remains, the help centre holds a full glossary, in your own language.
Nobody expects you to know everything. You are expected to know where to look, and who to call.
