Use case · Bus and truck fleet management
From GPS to the workshop,
your whole fleet in the ERP.
A bus and truck operator wants to know where its vehicles are, what state they are in and when to stop them. A small device brings all of it straight into the ERP.
The situation
GPS tracking lives in one portal, maintenance in another tool, mileage in a spreadsheet filled in by hand. A breakdown is discovered on the road, and the tachograph calibration turns up at the last minute.
What gets in the way
- Mileage is read by hand, when it is read at all
- An engine fault code stays invisible until the breakdown
- GPS tracking does not talk to the workshop
- Regulatory deadlines are followed from memory
How it works
- 1
Equip
A small device connects to the vehicle: GPS position, OBD2 and J1939 diagnostic port, cellular network.
- 2
Track
Real-time position, zone entries and exits, speed, prolonged idling and harsh driving come up into the ERP.
- 3
Count
The odometer comes up from the vehicle to its record, with no data entry. Imported fuel fills give the consumption.
- 4
Anticipate
A critical fault code triggers an alert and prepares a repair order for that vehicle.
- 5
Maintain
Repair orders by phase, parts, subcontracting and mechanics' planning. Tachograph and breathalyser have their due dates.
What changes
One record per vehicle
Position, mileage, alerts, repairs and calibrations read in one place.
Breakdowns seen earlier
The workshop receives the fault before the vehicle returns, with the code sent up by the engine.
Accounts of every trip
Distance, driving, stops and consumption are kept on record, ready for your emissions report.
Respect for drivers
Raw positions kept for 60 days at most, and each driver can obtain an export of their data.
